Towing in Clifton, NJ: Route 3, Route 46 and the Parkway, about 40 minutes from our yard
Clifton is the first Passaic County town a truck reaches coming north from Linden, roughly 38 to 40 minutes by the Parkway or Route 21. It is a big, spread-out city of separate sections, from Botany Village by the Passaic line to Allwood near the Route 3 ramps. Three highways meet here, and so do most of our Clifton calls.
What gets towed in Clifton, NJ, and how the truck gets to you
Clifton sends us Route 3 and Route 46 breakdowns, cars coming off the Parkway exits, shoppers at Clifton Commons, and residents from Athenia to Botany Village, with the nearest truck sent at the $149 flat booking fee, $129 when you book online and a drive time said before dispatch.
Route 3, Route 46 and Clifton Commons
Route 3 runs past Clifton Commons, with its cinema, big stores and packed lots, before it tangles with Route 46 and the Parkway. The merges here produce fender-benders and the stop-and-go traffic cooks tired engines.
Tell the dispatcher which road, which direction and the closest store or ramp. The driver picks the approach that keeps the truck on your side of the barrier.
Garden State Parkway Exits 153 to 157
The Parkway crosses Clifton with a run of exits feeding Route 3, Route 46, Allwood Road and the local streets. Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are served by the Authority's authorized garages. Book with us and we take the car from the exit or the garage's lot.
Once the car is off the Parkway, whether at the top of a ramp or in the garage's lot, our truck takes it to the shop or driveway you choose.
Main Avenue, Van Houten Avenue and Athenia
Main Avenue is Clifton's long commercial street, running toward Passaic with shops, auto businesses and curb parking. Van Houten Avenue cuts across Athenia, a residential section with busy corners and tight driveways.
Calls here are mostly no-starts, flats and short tows to local mechanics. A roadside fix is one flat price and often saves the tow.
Allwood and Botany Village
Allwood sits on the north side near the Route 3 and Parkway interchanges, with Allwood Road carrying traffic between them. Botany Village, down by the Passaic city line, is an old mill district with narrow streets and small shops.
In Botany Village, say which street and whether the car is blocking a lane or a driveway. The driver brings the truck that fits the block.
In Clifton? Give the road and a landmark, and ask how long. The answer is usually about 40 minutes.

Call nowClifton: common questions
Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
How long will a truck take to reach me in Clifton?
About 38 to 40 minutes from our Linden yard, sooner if a truck is already working north of Newark. The dispatcher tells you which before you agree.
I stalled on the Parkway right before a Clifton exit. Can you get me?
On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.
My car died in the Clifton Commons lot. Is that a tow or a jump?
Often just a jump, which is one flat price. Tell the dispatcher which part of the lot and what the car does when you turn the key.
Can you tow from a narrow street in Botany Village?
Yes. Tell us the street and whether you are blocking anything, and the driver brings a truck that fits.
Anything else? Ask on the call.
