Towing in the Passaic County highlands: West Milford, Ringwood, Wanaque, Bloomingdale and Pompton Lakes

Pompton Lakes is the doorway to the highlands, with I-287 exits and the Hamburg Turnpike passing through. It is close to an hour from Linden, a little less if a truck is already in Wayne.

Wanaque, including the Haskell section, sits below the Wanaque Reservoir, with Ringwood Avenue as its main road. Bloomingdale lies to the west off the Hamburg Turnpike, near the Morris County line.

Ringwood stretches north toward the New York line, with Ringwood State Park and the roads around the reservoirs. Skyline Drive climbs up from the I-287 area and is steep, curving and dark at night.

We plan Ringwood jobs ahead: a car that has not moved all winter, a project vehicle heading to a shop, a dealer transfer. For a crash on Skyline Drive, the nearest local garage will reach you first.

West Milford is the largest town in the county by area, running from Route 23 in the south to Greenwood Lake in the north along the Greenwood Lake Turnpike. Distances inside the township alone can be long.

It is well over an hour from Linden. Scheduled tows here get a fixed day and window, and the dispatcher builds the trip around it.
