Towing in Paterson, NJ: the county seat, its river roads and I-80, about 40 minutes from our yard
Paterson is Passaic County's seat and its biggest city, built around the Great Falls of the Passaic River. From Linden it is about 40 minutes, coming up the Parkway and Route 19 or Route 21 and Route 20. The downtown grid, the river boulevards and I-80 give us three very different kinds of call.
What gets towed in Paterson, NJ, from Market Street to the I-80 ramps
Paterson sends us downtown breakdowns on Market Street and Main Street, crashes along Route 20 and McLean Boulevard, interstate stalls near the I-80 exits, and hospital and stadium lot calls, with the closest truck sent at the $149 flat booking fee, $129 when you book online.
Market Street, Main Street and downtown
Downtown Paterson is a grid of busy one-way and two-way streets, with Market Street and Main Street at its center and curb parking everywhere. A stalled car here holds up buses and deliveries within minutes.
Give the cross street and the nearest business or church. St. Joseph's University Medical Center on Main Street is a landmark most callers can see or name.
The Great Falls and Hinchliffe Stadium
The Great Falls sit in a national historical park on the west side of downtown, with Hinchliffe Stadium above them. Visitors park on narrow, sloping streets, and events fill every space nearby.
A dead car or a lockout here is usually a flat roadside job. If it needs a tow, tell the dispatcher which side of the river you are on.
Route 19, Route 20 and McLean Boulevard
Route 19 feeds Paterson from the Clifton interchanges, and Route 20 becomes McLean Boulevard as it follows the river along the city's east edge. Both carry heavy traffic, and the river side sees crashes when the road is wet.
Our trucks work these roads directly. Say the direction and the nearest cross street or bridge, and wait off the roadway.
I-80 exits, Riverside and Eastside
I-80 runs through the south of the city with several exits dropping into Paterson's streets. Riverside, in the river bend to the north, is a working mix of homes and small industry, while Eastside is a leafy residential section near the park.
Interstate breakdowns need the direction and last exit number. Neighborhood calls need the street and cross street, and the tow goes to the shop you pick.
Anywhere in Paterson? Give the street, the landmark or the exit, and hear the real wait before you commit.

Call nowPaterson: common questions
Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
How long does it take a truck to reach Paterson?
About 40 minutes from our Linden yard. If a truck is already working Clifton or Passaic, the dispatcher will give you the shorter time.
I broke down on I-80 near a Paterson exit. Do you come out?
Yes. I-80 is a direct dispatch for us. Give the direction and the last exit, then stand behind the barrier until the driver calls.
My car will not start near the Great Falls. What do I tell you?
Which street and which side of the river. It is often a jump or a lockout, both one flat price.
Can you take a crashed car from McLean Boulevard to my own body shop?
Yes. When police clear it, the car is photographed and taken to the shop you name, not to a storage yard.
Anything else? Ask on the call.
