Towing near me in Passaic County, NJ: six areas, the roads between them, and how long we really take
Looking for towing near you in Passaic County? Here is how we cover it from our yard in Linden: six areas, the highways that link them, and a straight estimate of the drive to each. The four New Jersey counties around Passaic are covered at the bottom.
Passaic County towing area by area: the towns, the roads and the drive from Linden
The phone number, the trucks and the booking fee are the same in all six areas; the drive from Linden is what differs, from about 38 minutes to Clifton up to an hour or more for West Milford, along with the kind of job each area tends to produce.
Clifton
About 38 to 40 minutes. Route 3, Route 46 and the Parkway exits, Main Avenue and Van Houten Avenue, Allwood, Athenia and Botany Village, and the Clifton Commons shopping strip.
Passaic city
About 38 to 40 minutes. The top of Route 21, Main Avenue, Monroe Street, Passaic Avenue near the river and St. Mary's General Hospital, on tight blocks with heavy curb parking.
Paterson
About 40 minutes. Market Street and Main Street downtown, the Great Falls and Hinchliffe Stadium, Route 19, Route 20 and McLean Boulevard, St. Joseph's, and the I-80 exits.
Wayne, Totowa and Little Falls
About 40 to 45 minutes. Route 23, Route 46 and I-80, Willowbrook Mall, William Paterson University and the Route 23 and 46 interchange.
Hawthorne and the Haledons
About 45 minutes. Goffle Road and Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne, Belmont Avenue through Haledon and North Haledon, Prospect Park, and Route 208.
The northern highlands
An hour or more. Pompton Lakes, Wanaque, Bloomingdale, Ringwood and West Milford, reached by I-287, Route 23 north, the Greenwood Lake Turnpike and Skyline Drive. Scheduled work first.
Woodland Park, the small borough between Paterson and Little Falls, is covered on the same terms as its neighbors. So are the side roads of every town listed, whether or not we named them here.
Tell dispatch the road and a landmark, and hear which truck is closest.

- Route 19 between Clifton and Paterson
- Route 20 and McLean Boulevard along the river
- Route 21 into Passaic city

- I-287 at Pompton Lakes and Wanaque
- Greenwood Lake Turnpike and Skyline Drive
A car that still limps along is safer in a gas station, a store lot or a side street than on a Route 46 shoulder, and moving it there costs nothing extra. A car that will not budge stays put with flashers on while you wait behind the rail. Then give dispatch the highway, which way you were heading and the exit you last passed.
On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.

Call from the roadsideThe counties that border Passaic County, and how a tow across the line is priced
Passaic County borders Bergen, Essex, Morris and Sussex counties in New Jersey; a tow that begins in Passaic County and ends in any of them is priced as the booking fee plus mileage, and much longer trips become long-distance runs.
Bergen County
East of Clifton, Paterson and Hawthorne along Route 3, Route 46, Route 4 and Route 208. Shops in Garfield, Elmwood Park and Fair Lawn are short hops from the south of the county.
Essex County
South of Clifton, Passaic and Little Falls, and the way our trucks come up from Linden. Nutley, Montclair and Cedar Grove are frequent destinations.
Morris County
West of Wayne and Pompton Lakes along I-80, Route 23 and I-287. Tows into Lincoln Park, Pequannock, Butler and Kinnelon are quoted by the mile.
Sussex County
Beyond West Milford along Route 23 and the mountain roads. The farthest reach of our coverage, and a scheduled run rather than a quick call.
A county line is invisible on the bill; only distance counts. Runs to the shore, into New York City or across a state border are handled as a long distance tow with tolls in the quote.

Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
Is there a tow truck near me in Passaic County?
Our yard is in Linden, not in the county, so the dispatcher checks whether one of our trucks is already working nearby. You get a straight arrival estimate, usually around 40 minutes in the south of the county.
Which part of Passaic County do you reach first?
Clifton and Passaic city, at roughly 38 to 40 minutes. Paterson is about 40 and Wayne about 45.
Do you cover West Milford and Ringwood?
Yes, as an hour-plus run that we prefer to schedule. For a live emergency up there, a local garage may reach you faster, and we will tell you if so.
Can a tow start in Passaic County and end in Bergen or Morris County?
Yes. County lines do not add a charge; the booking fee stays put and the miles to the far end are counted and read to you.
